CarTrade Tech shares fall 7% despite profit rise

On July 29, 2026, shares of CarTrade Tech, the operator of OLX India, fell more than 7% after the company reported its Q1 FY27 results.

Consolidated net profit rose 19% year-on-year to Rs 51 crore, while revenue from operations grew 16% to Rs 201 crore.

Compared to the previous quarter, net profit fell around 21% and revenue slipped nearly 1%. The from Q4 FY26.

Still, the quarter had bright spots. Total income hit an all-time high of Rs 230 crore, up 16% YoY. rose 45% to Rs 63 crore, with the improving to 31%.

Margins grew faster than revenue — at work.

OLX India's income grew 29% YoY, while its EBITDA jumped 76%.

Each of the company's flagship digital platforms — , , and OLX India — now attracts over 150 million annual unique visitors. The platforms drew nearly 80 million average monthly unique visitors in Q1, with 95% of traffic coming organically.

The company also operates more than 500 physical locations, including , CarWale abSure and Signature dealerships, and OLX India franchise outlets.

Chairman Vinay Sanghi credited the diversified portfolio and disciplined execution for the results, and pointed to the launch of VAYA AI as part of the company's technology push.

The stock is down about 1% in 2026 but has risen 34% over the past year and 452% over three years.
